Yumiyo Miyata

Steering Committee 2024-2025 of Japan Graphic Design Association (JAGDA).
Based in Toyama City, where she was born in 1973. Her work spans a wide range from Graphic Design and Art Direction to organising exhibitions and producing books. She also creates and sells cat products as she is involved in pottery art and cat rescue activities. She received Grand Prix at CS Design Award (2020) and serves on a jury for Good Design Award (2025).
She has held solo exhibitions at D&Department Toyama Gallery, Koffe, and Kitton Coffee, and joined group exhibitions such as Takeo Paper Show 2014 “Subtle” (organized by Takeo; Curated by Kenya Hara), “Eight Women” (organized by Creation Gallery G8), “Graphic Trial with Airus” (organized by Tokushu Tokai Paper), “Nippon’s 47: Graphic Design 2015” (curated by Kenmei Nagaoka, D&Department Project), among others.
Her work has been published in “One and Three Books” (LimArt), “Beautiful Designs: Perspectives and Philosophies of Seven Female Designers” (Seibundo Shinkosha), “The Next Generation: Japanese Women Designers, Photographers, and Illustrators” (PIE Books, now PIE International) and others.
