新竹市為台灣重要科技產業城市，為吸引年輕人才移居，市政府致力提升當地居住環境品質。「新竹動物園」作為新竹市中心的綠肺，是促進人與自然交流的重要場域。 全新的新竹動物園以「類棲地」模擬動物真正的自然生長環境，透過天然屏障取代獸欄，打破以往「單一物種棲息」的模式，拉近動物與動物、動物與人群之間的距離。讓四季更迭候鳥群居、鹿群相追逐成為日常風景，型塑友善動物、包容生命的自然場域。識別設計以年輕化的線條，將園區具代表性動物串連在一起，傳遞新竹動物園生態共生，城市共存的包容精神。
Hsinchu City is one of the main technological and industrial cities of Taiwan. In order to attract young talent, the local government is committed to improve the quality of the living environment. The ""Hsinchu Zoo,"" as the metaphorical lung of the Hsinchu city center, is an important place for interaction between human beings and nature. The brand-new Hsinchu Zoo simulates the natural environment of animals by using a ""habitat-like"" design and replacing the animal cages with natural barriers. It abandons the past model of a ""single species habitat,"" bringing animals closer to animals, and human beings closer to animals. It displays the passing of the seasons, the migration of birds, the play and chase of deer as everyday scenery; it creates an ecological coexistenting area that is an animal-friendly. The identity design of the zoo adopts youthful lines, interconnects the iconic animals of the zoo, and thus passes on the spirit of ecological coexistence of the Hsinchu Zoo for the coexistence of nature and cities.
